"I really LOVED your talk at the Scituate Senior Center about AI. I wondered how I would feel after it as questions and doubts weighed heavily. But the upsides now outweigh any downside. I have played with AI a bit but now will check into it much more often because of your talk. Many thanks..."
- Anne Tucker, Scituate
"Greetings Henry.
Will you please forward to me the notes presented at "Understanding AI" delivered at the Duxbury Senior Center on April 29th. I only wish my file system was as good as your organized presentation as I finally found the paper containing your e- mail address. I ask you to allow me to repeat my comments when I thank you for the presentation. You addressed a vital situation in our society and presented it in a clear and organized manner. You took a subject that is not only current but you delivered the data in a direct and completely understandable manner. I was concerned when I read the description of the course but right from your opening comments I knew I would not only enjoy the presentation but would walk away with a base knowledge I will build on. At 84 Years old I do not make that statement often."
- Fred Von Bargen, Duxbury

"Henry,
As you talked this morning about the intelligence of AI, I thought ahead to the fact that possibly in the future, those organizations can use AI and will be able to do the work themselves. To me it seems quite possible that they can opt out of going through their organization.
You gave examples of people going in to law school…. but why bother if there is AI. I can envision robots in the courtroom, arguing cases. Not now…. but as you say, in the not-too-distant future. Serious job losses can be envisioned, as well and you also had mentioned that possibility.
My mind is whirling about what can and will happen…. lol….
So.......what is a human….to do?
I have always said that AI will be a good thing (when it comes around), with self-driving cars for the elderly, when the elderly are not able to drive anymore.
….and I also agree w/you that if a person is lonely, then perhaps AI can relieve some of that loneliness and that is a good thing…. or even have some sort of robot in the home.
I am not sure how long I will be around but let’s see what the near future brings….
Would you please send me a copy of your slide presentation…. as my little bit of "henscratch" notes.....is terrible.
Thank you for your presentation. Very interesting.
Take care,"
